Pātikitiki (or pātiki) is a traditional Māori pattern based on the diamond or lozenge shape of the flounder fish.It signifies abundance, hospitality (manaakitanga), and food security, often representing the ability to provide for the entire iwi (tribe). It is widely used in tukutuku (lattice panels), whāriki (mats), and carving.
